What this is

Software that takes your record of pesticide applications, checks it against New York State DEC’s published rules for the Pesticide Reporting Law annual report, and produces Form 26 and Form 26A files built to DEC’s Text File Specifications.

What this is not

• We do not file for you. We prepare the files. You upload them at nysprl.com and keep the submission number DEC gives you. Your February 1 obligation is yours, and it is discharged when the state has your report — not when our files are downloaded.
• We are not your lawyer. Nothing here or in the product is legal advice. Where our reading of a DEC document is uncertain we say so in the product rather than pretending otherwise.
• We are not affiliated with DEC. No endorsement by, or association with, the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation is claimed or implied.

What we try to do, and what we promise

The validator implements DEC’s published rules as carefully as we can read them, and it is tested against the official specifications. We cannot promise that every file will be accepted: DEC’s systems are theirs, the rules can change, and a record that is correctly formatted can still be factually wrong. If a report comes back, tell us — a rejection we can reproduce becomes a rule in the validator.

Your data and your responsibility

What you enter is yours, and you can export all of it at any time. The accuracy of it is yours too: we check the shape of a record, not whether the quantity you typed is what came out of the container. You are responsible for keeping the three-year daily use records New York requires, and for what is in them.

Payment

$149 per year, per business, covering every applicator and technician it files for. It renews annually until you cancel; cancelling stops the next renewal and leaves your access running to the end of the period you have already paid for. Checking a file and seeing how many problems it has is free. Payments are handled by Stripe.

Availability and liability

The service is provided as it is, without warranties beyond those the law does not allow us to exclude. To the extent the law permits, our total liability is limited to what you have paid us in the twelve months before a claim. We are not liable for penalties arising from a report you did not file, filed late, or filed with incorrect information.

Ending it

You can close your account whenever you like; export your data first, because closing it deletes the data. We may suspend an account being used to attack the service or to break the law, and we will say why.
